2010 Tech Fair
Poster Contest Guidelines
The purpose of the Poster Contest is to allow students to create the
artwork that will be used in the posters, print publicity, and T-shirts
for the 2010 North Atlanta Jewish Students' Technology Fair.
The North Atlanta Jewish Students' Technology Fair is held every year
and is open to all Jewish students in grades 3-12. Students may compete
in a variety of categories including Robotics, Computer Programming,
Multimedia Design, Computer Case Modification, Video and others.
Requirements:
All submissions must be in a digital format. Non-digital entries
will not be accepted. Submissions should be in .JPG, .GIF, .TIF,
or .PNG formats only.
Submissions only need to include the artwork; Technology Fair
information will be added later when producing the poster and T-shirt.
Images should be 18 inches on a side. (At 72 DPI dots per inch
resolution, that equals an image with dimensions of 1296 x 1296.)
Submissions should be visually eye-catching, and be related in some
way to technology other than having been created with a digital image
program.
All artwork should be original portions of the artwork may be
borrowed from other sources, but the overall submission should be unique
to the artist. Any submissions which include other artwork should
indicate where that artwork came from.
Variations on previous winning entries are not eligible.
While it is not necessary to include Tech Fair information in the
artwork, some entrants may wish to incorporate the information
artistically as part of the submission. If that is the case, here is the
appropriate information should entrants wish to include some of it:

Entry designs should be emailed to
poster@najstf.org before the deadline.
Prizes:
One winner will be chosen. The winning entry will be made into
posters advertising the 2010 Technology Fair. In addition, the winning
entry will be selected to be the artwork for the 2010 Tech Fair t-shirt;
the winner will receive a free t-shirt bearing their artwork.

2010 Tech Fair
Video Contest Guidelines

The purpose of the Video Contest is to allow students to create
a short video advertisement to get other students excited about
registering for the North Atlanta Jewish Students' Technology
Fair.
The North Atlanta Jewish Students' Technology Fair is held
every year and is open to all students in grades 3-12. Students
may compete in a variety of categories including Robotics,
Computer Programming, Multimedia Design, Computer Case
Modification, Video and others.
Requirements:
Video advertisement must be no longer than 60 seconds.
Standard television commercials are 30 seconds.
The purpose of the ad should be to develop interest in people
so that they go to the website for more information about
registering for the Tech Fair. The website address must be
included: http://www.najstf.org
Language and imagery used in the ads must be appropriate for
viewing by students at any grade level kindergarten through
12th grade.
Submissions must be in digital format. Accepted formats are .WMV,
.AVI, .MPG or .MOV. See below for submission information.
Submissions should have high, broadcast-quality video and
audio. The quality of the submission as well as the content will
be used to determine the winner.
NOTE: Submissions for the Video Contest may also be registered
for the Technology Fair itself. Criteria for evaluating the
winning advertisement for the Video Contest are not necessarily
the same as the Technology Fair criteria for winning videos, so
all entries are encouraged to register.
How to Enter and Submit:
The contest is open to Middle School (grades 6-8) and High
School (grades 9-12) Jewish students.

Submissions are due by 3 PM on Tuesday, December 8th. Entries
will be submitted on digital media (CD-ROM, flash drive, etc.)
to the Technology Specialist at the entrants school.
Contest entrants must register at the website to be
considered.
Prizes:
One winner will be chosen. The winning entry will be broadcast
over the closed-circuit systems within participating schools
where possible.
